Loved So Much #GDP019

I absolutely loved this week’s theme for Global Design Project – #GDP019 The theme is love. I had made this card over the weekend and it is perfect for my entry this week! How wonderful is that?

I was fortunate enough to spend an entire weekend with other Stampin’ friends, all just doing what we love! I am part of a group here in St Louis that sneaks off a few times a year to an undisclosed location where we have the luxury of a great big house with a huge room to stamp in.  It is a great get away.  We simply laugh, eat and stamp.  What could be better than that?  And this weekend could not have come at a better time.  I was so happy to leave the stress of work and the holidays behind and just create art for a few days.  It was a fun getaway.

For this card, I wanted to center it around the flocked specialty paper and the Watermelon Wonder ribbon. I loved the look of this design from the Shine On Specialty Paper.  I also felt the paper was a perfect backdrop to the 3-D look of the Botanical Builder Framelits. But I was undecided about what “kind” of card to make it in terms of the sentiment.  A good thing about being with other stamping friends is that we all borrow from each other!  Once I voiced my confusion over a sentiment in a style that would work with this card,   my friend Sally pulled her set from the Watercolor Wishes kit and once I looked at it, I knew what I wanted the card to say. It was a special card and deserved to be given to someone with love!  And so it was a happy accident that this card became the perfect entry for #GDP019 this week!

This card popped off the page and grabbed my attention immediately. What a delight! I’ve looked at it 20 or 30 times in the past couple of hours, but I still can’t figure out what the third yummy color is along with the Crumb Cake and Watermelon Wonder….Those Botanical Builder Framelits have been calling to me for a while, and your card has convinced me that they do, indeed, need to come to live at my house! Thank you so much for the wonderful inspiration!

      Lola,

Thank you so much! Your comments are so appreciated and yes I think Botanical anything in the Spring Occasions is a must have! I only used Watermelon Wonder and Crumb Cake solid card stock. The background of the card is the “Shine On” Specialty DSP. (140579). This is kraft paper with a flocked design in Watermelon Wonder. That may be the other color you are seeing. Have fun with the Botanicals Suite. I love the versatility of this set.
