Finding Hidden Treasure in My Paper Pumpkin Stash!

November 16, 2016 Filed Under: Project Gallery

Alternate Paper Pumpkin, Harvest of Thanks, Paisleys & Posies, Stampin Up 3-D

My favorite store to meander through is Target.  And I love searching for hidden treasure in the dollar bins at the front of the store. Target has the best stuff there. And the other day I found these berry baskets in Old Olive.  Or at least they are pretty close to Old Olive.  I needed something for a pre-Thanksgiving “Thanksgiving Dinner” with a group I am in.  I was making “Blessing Books” and table gifts from recent Paper Pumpkin kits.  But I really needed something to display them in.  And here in the dollar bins at Target were just the perfect thing!  Yes, I know we have a berry basket die(retired) I could have used. But these were much sturdier and came in a pack of 4 for $3.00!  Don’t you just love Target?

I used a lot of retired stamps in this project.  But I have some favorites I bring out for the holidays.  They are my “go to’s” for place cards, menus, etc.  And I am a big believer in keeping stamps you love and using them again. The blessing books are the card front from the Paper Pumpkin in August.  The test tubes are from September’s Paper Pumpkin and actually use the stamp set from last year’s September Paper Pumpkin.

I can’t say I loved Paper Pumpkin when it first came out, but after the quality and design of the product finally hit its stride, I really started to appreciate the value of using kits.  So, now I love Paper Pumpkin, even when the kit isn’t a card.  And I encourage you to become a Paper Pumpkin subscriber.  The projects are beautiful and a nice escape when you want to stamp, but hitting a creative block. And I would love to be your Demonstrator if you do sign up.  To sign up, you can follow this link HERE!  Today’s projects are all from Paper Pumpkin kits. As they were arriving this year, I knew I would be saving them for my Thanksgiving decor.

The Blessing Books are something I do in some format or another every year for Thanksgiving.  I think it is important to write down what you are thankful for and reflect upon it at Thanksgiving.  Taking time to realize how blessed we all truly are is why Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.  This book uses the card front from one of the cards in the August 2016 Paper Pumpkin.  I changed it up a bit by using a stamp from the Paisleys and Posies Stamp set from the 2016 Occasions catalog.  This stamp is absolutely perfect for a Blessing Book.  The inside features a small note pad with some DSP on the binding. That is it!  Simple and easy to do!

The test tubes will be filled with candy and set by each table as a table gift with extras on the buffet table.  Using the same DSP as shown inside the Blessing Book, I made place cards.  Everything ties together perfectly!  All created by using hidden treasure found at Target, in my Paper Pumpkin stash, in my retired stamps and paper stash.

Alternate Paper Pumpkin

So, by taking the August & September Paper Pumpkin and changing it up a bit, I have great table decor for Thanksgiving.  And with October’s fantastic shaker card Paper Pumpkin, I also have cards to send out to family & friends.  By changing things up a bit and using different stamps, my Thanksgiving stamping projects were fast and easy!  Some of these are still available to order!  You can find plenty of past Paper Pumpkin kits available HERE! Just make sure that if you need to the stamp set, choose the kit. The refills only have the supplies to make more projects and do not include the stamp set or stamp pad.
